It's not just cosmetic either. It's a fully functional VTOL as well! Feel free to take it for a spin! Mediafire Download. There are instructions in the craft's name drop-down. An extra piece of advice is to turn off the torque on the reaction wheel that's on the tail as yaw controls are a little imbalanced with it enabled :D.

If Apple made helicopters, it would probably look like this. Released by Fantastic Plastic Models in August 2014, the Oblivion Bubble Ship kit was mastered by Ed Holt and cast by BLAP! Models. Vacuform components were made by Mana Studios. The kit also featured white metal landing gear cast by Kings Road Miniatrues. Decals are by JBOT.

Rather than employ digital models, Wild Factory, a Camarillo concept car company, built the Bubble Ship as a 25-foot-long (7.6 m), 4,000-5,000 lb (1,800-2,300 kg), mostly aluminum prop. Elements of the cockpit, such as the placement of the joystick and pedals, were customized for Cruise, who is a pilot in real life, and who had some input.

About the Design. Designed by Daniel Simon for the 2013 Tom Cruise vehicle "Oblivion," the Bubble Ship melded the "whirlybird" lines of the classic Bell 47 helicopter (1946) with those of a dragon fly. The craft featured rotating VTOL engines as a cockpit that swiveled along with the upper and lower machine guns fixed to its bubble canopy.

Replica Fictional VTOL Jet. Hello everybody ive made the bubble ship from Oblivion (the movie) it took about 3 hours to make it but it done! Directions: to take off its about 30 percent throttle and slowly ease the vtol foward and once you are flying put landing legs up and then activate 1 for side thrusters (u might need to use trim) to land.

Apple Trailers just posted a featurette on the full scale Bubbleship they built for the film "Oblivion". Somehow I just know there has to be someone here wanting to build a model of this ship or some model company putting out a scaled kit or built model of it..most likely from Sideshow collectibles. Its just too cool not to.

It's an awesome model, but it needs some fixing up, animating and a flight model. I'll watch the movie tonight to make sure I pick up on some nuances.
